Will we disturb the dolphins?
Like any other wilderness excursion it is important that it be undertaken with
awareness and sensitivity. Our intention is always to connect with the dolphins
with respect and awareness. We do not feed, chase or do anything that might
disturb their natural behaviour. Only at the dolphins' invitation do we interact
with them.
Do I need SCUBA certification?
No, you do not need to SCUBA dive when you go on our tours. We snorkel with
the dolphins, not SCUBA. We do recommend that you practice snorkelling before
you come so that you fell comfortable in the water.
What will the actual experience be like?
Your experience will be unique, but we often hear the words, blissful, healing,
relaxing, meditative, life-changing. Usually we have excellent interaction with
the dolphins. However, this is a wilderness experience. The dolphins are free
and its up to them as to when the connection happens; how and when they may
approach, communicate and interact with you. It is a group, so you are assured
the best possible dolphin interaction.
Do I have to be a good swimmer?
All levels of swimmers and no-swimmers are welcome. We provide support for those
who are aquatically challenged, including a variety of flotation devices.
Seasickness and fear of the water?
We have ginger pills and tea onboard to help settle the stomach if necessary.
Most people who come with a fear of the ocean usually manage to move through
it and experience freedom from that fear.
Children?
We encourage and welcome children. We enjoy their spontaneity, as do the dolphins.
Could the dolphins harm me?
These are wild free beings. This is a wilderness experience and anything is
possible of course. However, in the time we have been doing this we have never
experienced a dolphin harming any one.... Our experience has shown us that dolphins
are sentient conscious beings who behave in a joyful way towards us.
Is it guaranteed that I swim with dolphins?
We could never guarantee that you will swim with wild dolphins. They are just
that, wild and free to come and go as they choose. Often the dolphins engage
in play with our bout, and when they show interest, we get into the water using
snorkelling gear, for incredible close-up encounters in the water. This provides
an amazing opportunity to see dolphins doing what they do out in the wild.
